- Hugh Goulbourne, (Founder) Hugh is the National Energy Coordinator and the Yorkshire Regional Convener for SERA the Labour Environment Campaign. As Energy Coordinator, Hugh has been involved in developing a range of policy recommendations to promote distributed energy, heat efficiency and renewable energy. In particular, he led on the recent SERA publication, 'Waste not, want not' which set out a package of regulatory, fiscal and planning measures, which would ensure investment in the infrastructure needed to provide every community in the UK with low-carbon heat and electricity.
Hugh first became engaged with energy policy through his work as a Community Director of the Shoreditch Trust and Community Governor at Lister Community School. In these and other voluntary roles he has worked with local communities on a number of sustainable energy projects, including a co-generation and district heating project aimed at combating fuel poverty. Hugh is an active member of the Labour and Co-operative Parties and is based in Huddersfield, in West Yorkshire. hugh@communityenergy.info - Technology and Science:
- Dr. Keith J. Baker; is a Project Researcher at the Scottish Institute of Sustainable Technology, Heriot-Watt University, working on communicating the outputs from the EPSRC's Sustainable Urban Environments programme. Keith is also a journalist writing on e-waste and environmental impact of technology and an award-wining science communicator. Keith has just moved to Edinburgh from Leicester, where he was a member of numerous campaign groups including No Sweat and Leicester Social Forum, and as a member of Leicester Secular Society remains involved with a £2million project to redevelop Leicester's historic Secular Hall keith@communityenergy.info

- Maria Carvalho, Maria is a final year Master's student at the London School of Economics, studying Environmental Policy and Regulation. Aside from studying issues about environmental sustainability, Maria has worked on sustainability programs with rural communities in West Bengal, India, through micro-credit financing and natural disaster preparation programs. Maria is also involved with educational programs for children. She created the Francis Fernandez Scholarship Fund for Seva Kendra Calcutta's Drop Out School Children Program in West Bengal, India and is a Royal Geographic Society Student Ambassador, promoting Geography in secondary schools in Greater London mariac@communityenergy.info

- Business and CO2 markets:
- Geoff Sinclair, is a London-based economist specialising in carbon markets. He advises the New Zealand Government on market-based Kyoto compliance issues; was on the New Zealand delegation at the Marrakech negotiations, and has advised the UNFCCC Secretariat on the international carbon registry system.
- Technology and Science:
- Professor Keith Barnham, is Professor of Physics at Imperial College London. He began his career as an experimental particle physicist at CERN and Berkeley but began to specialise in solar photovoltaics when he realised the importance of developing renewable electricity sources and the extent to which these are under-researched. Keith was a founder member of Scientists for Global Responsibility and amongst other things has recently contributed to work done by the Oxford Research Group.
- Building sector:
- Rory Bergin, M.SC RIBA: Rory is a Director at HTA Architects Ltd, one of the top 50 Architectural practices in the UK, where he is responsible for knowledge management and involved in practice wide activities relating to innovative projects and sustainability. Rory was closely involved with HTA's winning submission for the Design for Manufacture competition a project that is set to establish new standards in sustainable development for the private and affordable sectors. He is also a member of the Sustainable Development Commission consultation Panel.
- Nuclear Sector
- Professor Bryan McHugh: Bryan is professor emeritus at Chalmers Tekniska Högskola, Gothenburg. Bryan actively promotes low-carbon technologies and argues that electricity must be promoted as a replacement to all forms of combustion. He suggests that a mix of methods is necessary to achieve the required base load production, but believes that nuclear fission (using modern techniques/systems) should not be ruled out of this equation.
- Political and 3rd Sector:
- Hywel Lloyd, Hywel has studied the impact of the Chernobyl nuclear accident and its fallout across the UK. He has worked on practical conservation projects in different parts of the UK as well as participating in an 'Earthwatch' research project "Climate Change at the Arctic's Edge" which gathered evidence on the impact of global warming on the tundra of northern Canada. Hywel is the Chair of SERA.
- 3rd Sector and Business:
- Roy Tindle: Roy is a former analytical chemist and international banker. Roy now works with the Church of England in building towards sustainability, based on sound science. In particular, Roy is leading on two projects: Faith Sustains, which seeks to change energy use habits amongst church members in the Diocese of London; and Connected Development, a secular body researching renewable energy development throughout the world. Roy has also recently advised the LB Greenwich on sustainability issues.
- Communications:
- Maria Neophytou, Maria is a senior consultant at a communications consultancy, and an associate edior of the journal Renewal. She used to work for a Labour MEP in the European Parliament, where she followed the work of the EP's environment committee. Prior to that she worked for an American NGO as the academic director of a conflict resolution symposium, and also has experience from Wilton Park, the OSCE and the UN. After studying politics at the London School of Economics, Maria went on to gain a PhD from Cambridge University, where her research concerned gender justice in international peacebuilding. She was elected as a Sabbatical Officer for LSE Students Union and founded PuLSE Radio. She currently volunteers with Toynbee Hall on a mentoring scheme for young people in Tower Hamlets.
